Hi, we're Anika and Fleurie and we live in Marylebone with a little dog called Alfie. Since we met, we’ve loved trying out new dishes together, and sharing recipe ideas to try again. We decided to write this blog to share the fruits of our experiments — the perfect recipe for classic cocktails or dishes; our creative twists; or the best spots to eat and drink, both in London and abroad!

Anika

Anika loves pretty much all food and drink, and anything related! Her favourite cuisines are Italian, Indian, Israeli and Thai; and her ultimate single ingredient is truffles.  She loves exploring all the restaurants in central London — the list of new ones seems to outpace the speed she can visit them! Mostly, she enjoys restaurants that cook dishes she couldn’t easily make at home and are delicious — be that a Michelin tasting menu or incredible street food.

She’s been obsessed with red wine and champagne since she could grab a glass, but her favourites are usually fortified wines, dessert wines and minerally whites. Anika qualified as a UK Sommelier Association Sommelier in 2021, graduating with the highest grade in the history of the association. She has also done additional WSET qualifications, including sake. Anika's real passion is around great food and wine pairings, and wants us to move forward from outdated 'red for meat, white for fish' rules to keep up with the vegetable-focused, flavour-packed meals from around the world that we realistically eat.

For cocktails, she loves sour cocktails, porn star martinis, and molecular concoctions!

Fleurie

Fleurie grew up in the east of England, on an island off the west coast of Scotland and in Glasgow, as part of a foodie family with a penchant for Indian cooking — perfecting a recipe is in her nature. Since moving to London and travelling more, she loves trying out new dishes and cuisines, with a soft spot for an amazing pho.

Named after a Beaujolais, she spent much of her childhood and teenage years travelling around the wine regions of France. As an adult, she loves a fresh Italian Gavi and warming Argentinian Malbec. From a well-balanced Negroni to a tangy Paloma, when it comes to cocktails, Fleurie goes for the more refined, bitter tastes.
